Tryout Preparation Suggestions

Attend Open Gyms in June and July - this is the best way to develop and demonstrate your skills going into our tryouts. Plus, you'll get better, compete with top players and have fun! Open gym info here.

Know your skills - what position are you trying out for? What age and level is right for your skill level? The more you know about yourself, the more intentional you can be at tryouts!

Improve - get extra reps or personalized developmental coaching. NORCO has experienced coaches who provide year round private coaching. For more information click here.

Know the process - the governing body of our volleyball region is the Rocky Mountain Region (RMR). Each year they provide the dates and structure of tryouts and club registration. Read more about the process before tryouts.

Beyond Tryouts - be a gym rat! NORCO offers year round training opportunities, 3v3, 4v4, camps, clinics, leagues, and so much more.  When you join a NORCO team you join our community, get access to our facility, and can participate in numerous additional programs that support your full development as a student-athlete.

Each year numerous NORCO athlete continue their career at the college level. Between 2023 and 2025 over 30 athletes went on to play at D1, D2, D3 and NAIA levels. For a full summary of our commitments visit our Recruiting page

College recruiting is one of the most important aspects of club volleyball for players 15 and older who aspire to play at the next level. NORCO provides a full suite of recruiting servies to support their athletes and help them achieve their goal of playing in college.

Our experienced staff has formed great relationships with college coaches over our 45 year history and is a trusted brand in recruiting. Our athletes often contribute to their programs success and remain at their original college of choice for 4 full years.

Sports Recruits, Hudl and University Athlete are some of the platforms we use to support our recruitable athletes at the next level. For more information, contact us!

TRYOUT FAQ

Where are NORCO tryouts located?
All tryouts, practices, camps/clinics are held at our beautiful 10 court facility at 4539 Viking Way, Loveland, CO.

Can I watch my player during tryouts or open gyms?
No parents or spectators are allowed to watch Open Gyms or Tryouts. Once players are registered, all parents/spectators are asked to leave the building.

How do I know what age group my player should tryout for?
NORCO is a proud member of the Rocky Mountain Region of USAV.  If a player's age and grade do not match up, we want the vast majority of player's playing with their peer group, so they should play with their grade.  This is not considered "playing up"--it is considered playing with their peers.  Check your age.
