Julie Ward - Conference Carolinas Player of the Year!

Julie Ward ('18), the 2018 Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Year takes on Conference Carolinas Player of the Year honors following a spectacular 2019 season! Julie is the 16th conference player of the year in King women's volleyball program history and the second since King has become Conference Carolinas members. This is the second straight year Ward has been named first team all-conference.

This season Julie has led the Tornados offensively as she ranks second in the league with an average of 3.95 kills per set and fifth with 332 total kills. Julie also leads the league in service aces per set with an average of 0.57 following seven aces in King's quarterfinal win over Converse College on Tuesday. On the defensive end, the sophomore averages 3.26 digs per set and leads King with 13 double-doubles on the season.

Ward was named Conference Carolinas Player of the Week three times throughout the season. She posted a career-high 24 kills while hitting .579 in a win at North Greenville University and followed that with 23 kills and 14 digs in a win at Emmanuel College. In the conference quarterfinal on Tuesday, Ward registered 19 kills along with a .421 attack percentage and added nine digs.
