Makena Ehlert

I started playing volleyball around the age of 10 and loved it from the start. I started club at SCVC and then switched to Tstreet and played there from 15s to 18s. I played at Tesoro High School and was on varsity for three years as a starting outside hitter and team captain senior year. I then went on to play at Brown University where I was a 4 year starting Outside Hitter and again team captain my senior year. Since graduating college in 2020 I have played in a few leagues and search for pickup games wherever I can find them, but I have been desperately wanting to be a part of high level volleyball again. That’s what brought me to reach out to Norco after moving to Fort Collins last year. Unfortunately, by the time I reached out, all club teams were full and the Prime season didn’t work with my prior made plans, but I have enjoyed the opportunity to substitute when possible. I am currently coaching the academy league as well. I have also coached numerous high school and college clinics during my high school and college playing careers. Despite having more minimal coaching experience at this time, I strongly believe what I might lack in coaching experience is greatly replaced by playing experience. I look forward to the opportunity to work with this 18-1s team, share my knowledge of the game, and hopefully act as a resource for them as they start to think about what their college experience will be like. I am also excited to have the opportunity to learn from a great head coach and support her in any way she needs throughout the season.
