Dear Volleyball Enthusiast's,
Even though we are currently closed due to COVID-19, we will be updating you on events, schedules, and future plans. We will continue reaching out to everyone via social media outlets and ask our players and coaches to share some of their 'at home' workouts, communications and fun activities. Our goal is to maximize technological resources to stay connected and engaged! Although our volleyball world has been disrupted, we will look forward to the day we all can re-connect in person and know this adversity will only make us stronger!
Former NORCO elite athlete, Sydney Wetterström, ('15) earned the 2020 Wilma Rudolph Student-Athlete Achievement Award - one of five recipients of the prestigious award. The N4A Wilma Rudolph Student-Athlete Achievement Award honors student-athletes who have overcome great personal, academic, and/or emotional odds to achieve academic success while participating in intercollegiate athletics.
Sydney used these her negative experiences and turned them into a positive platform to counsel others: she co-founding a support group (SASH) and was also 'a member of the University of Michigan's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and used that platform to take the lead on coordinating programming and events aimed at raising awareness in the student-athlete community around issues of mental health.'
Sydney has graduated form the University of Michigan with a degree in exercise science and Spanish. She is continuing her education and volleyball career at Florida State University. Read the complete article here.
We are so proud of you and your perseverance, Sydney!

Alexis Stucky Soph 79 - 'Stucky is such an impactful player that she was named Wyoming 4A East POY even though she missed one-fourth of the season with a broken thumb' Alexis also was named 4A East All-Conference and 4A All-State!
Sydney Henry Highest Honorable - Sydney was the kill leader in 2019 for the undefeated Colorado 3A champions and 'The Patriot League All-Conference pick amassed 388 (4.5 per set) while also contributing 418 digs and a team-high 63 aces.'

Zoe Gibbs High Honorable - "Zoe is an incredibly impactful 6-rotation middle. Perhaps even more impressive is her ability to perform at any position on the court as needed. Zoe led her team in almost every statistical category" Said coach Daisha Agho. Zoe played in 61 sets and recorded 139 kills, 158 digs, 43 blocks and 37 aces.
We are excited to soon all come back together in person, but until then we are engaging each athlete in some fun "Weekly Challenges". Each Monday athletes receive an outline of a Workout for the Week, and a Mental/Emotional Challenge to complete. Our athletes are meeting these challenges head on!
Keep working hard, we hope to see you soon!
More details TBA
Zoe Gibbs, 16 Black, is in Dallas and with stores closed, there's not a volleyball net around. Determination didn't stop Zoe. Searching the house she found duct tape, twine, a pair of crutches and some fabric from grandma's sewing room to make the perfect 'quarantine net.'

NORCO Volleyball is a non-profit organization that focuses on developing volleyball players into well-rounded individuals. Our focus is more than volleyball and our qualified coaches strive to teach young men and women how to be successful. Every year, we hope to instill lasting impressions on these players that they will carry with them for a lifetime. Club Volleyball is a tool that teaches young men and women how to face difficult circumstances where they are forced to be uncomfortable and pushed to balance school, life, family, and volleyball. This is a challenge for every young adult and a necessary part of preparing for the next stages in life.
